  • 1. Make the Simple Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring constantly until the sugar completely dissolves. Remove from heat and let it cool for 10 minutes.n2. Juice the Lemons: While the syrup cools, roll your lemons on the counter to soften them, then cut and squeeze them to get 1 cup of fresh juice. Remove seeds but keep pulp if desired.n3. Mix the Lemonade: In a large pitcher, combine the fresh lemon juice and the cooled sugar syrup. Pour in the remaining 5 cups of cold water and stir well.n4. Chill and Serve: Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to chill. Serve over ice, garnished with lemon slices and mint.

Notes

For a pink lemonade variation, add a splash of cranberry juice or grenadine. Adjust sugar to taste.
