- Preheat oven to 400°F.nLine a large baking sheet with parchment paper or foil and set aside.nWash and thoroughly dry sweet potatoes.nPoke several holes in each potato with a fork, doing about 8 pokes per potato.nDrizzle sweet potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle on salt.nGently rub the olive oil and salt onto the sweet potato skin making sure to cover the entire potato.nPlace sweet potatoes on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 45 minutes or until the potatoes easily yield to an inserted fork or knife.nLet cool for five minutes before splitting open and topping with your favorite toppings.
Notes
Always select potatoes of uniform size so they finish cooking at the exact same time.nDo not wrap the potatoes in foil, as baking them uncovered guarantees a crispy skin.
